IEC Renewal / Annual Update Process

The Import Export Code (IEC) issued by DGFT does not require renewal. However, as per DGFT regulations, IEC holders must confirm or update their IEC details annually between April and June. Failure to complete this update may result in automatic deactivation of the IEC.

Even if there are no changes in details, the IEC holder must log in and confirm the details every year.

Step-by-Step IEC Update Process

Step 1 – Visit DGFT Website

Go to the official DGFT portal:
https://dgft.gov.in

Step 2 – Login to DGFT Portal

Click on Login and enter your registered email ID and password.

Step 3 – Navigate to IEC Profile

After login go to:
Services → IEC Profile Management → Manage IEC

Step 4 – Verify Details

If no changes are required, simply confirm the details and proceed. If changes are needed, update the information before submission.

Step 6 – Submit with DSC / Aadhaar eSign

Submit the update request using Digital Signature or Aadhaar eSign.

How to Reactivate Deactivated IEC

If IEC is deactivated due to non-update, the holder can reactivate it by completing the update process on the DGFT portal. Once the update is submitted successfully, the IEC will be reactivated.
