IEC Modification Guide (DGFT Portal)
IEC holders must update their Import Export Code details whenever there is a change in business information.
DGFT allows modification of IEC profile through the online portal.
Common reasons for IEC modification include:
- Change of business address
- Change of bank account details
- Change of email or mobile number
- Addition or removal of partners/directors
- Change in nature of business
IEC Modification Fee
The fee for modifying IEC details is:
₹200
Payment is made online through the DGFT portal.
Steps to Modify IEC Details
Step 1 — Visit DGFT Portal
Open DGFT website:
https://dgft.gov.in
Step 2 — Login to Your Account
Enter your registered email and password to access the DGFT dashboard.
Step 3 — Navigate to IEC Profile Management
Go to:
Services → IEC Profile Management → Manage IEC
Step 4 — Validate IEC
Enter your IEC number and validate using:
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
- Aadhaar e-sign
Step 5 — Modify Required Fields
You can update the following details:
- Firm address
- Bank account details
- Email or mobile number
- Branch details
- Partner or director details
Step 6 — Upload Supporting Documents
Upload documents if required such as:
- Address proof
- Cancelled cheque
- Partnership deed update
Documents must be uploaded in PDF format (max size 5MB).
Step 7 — Sign and Submit Application
Submit the application using:
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
- Aadhaar e-Sign
Cases Requiring DGFT Regional Authority Approval
Some IEC modifications require approval from DGFT Regional Authority (RA).
Examples include:
- Change in PAN of firm
- Change in nature of concern
- Addition or removal of partners/directors
In such cases, application status may show:
In Progress
until RA approves the request.
Important Notes
- IEC modification may take 12–24 hours to reflect in DGFT systems.
- Some updates require verification by DGFT Regional Authority.
- Changes should be made immediately when business information changes.
